Dr. Kiran Pavuluri is the Director of Innovations & Research at the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), where he leads innovation to advance sustainable fertilizer technologies and improve global food security . His work focuses on developing new fertilizers, characterizing enhanced efficiency fertilizers, providing crop nutrient solutions, with a special emphasis on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving soil health. Before joining IFDC, Dr. Pavuluri served as R&D Team Lead at Yara in the United Kingdom, spearheading new product development in foliar fertilization, coatings, and biostimulants. He also held senior agronomy roles at Sirius Minerals, collaborating with global research institutions on multi-nutrient fertilizers. In addition, Dr. Pavuluri’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Science from Virginia Tech, coupled with extensive field research experience in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa . Over the course of his career, Dr. Pavuluri has secured substantial research funding from public and private sources, contributed to patents, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and regularly presented at international conferences. Recognized for both his scientific expertise and industry leadership, he remains committed to collaboration with stakeholders across the agricultural value chain to accelerate impactful solutions for growers worldwide.
