Accessibility

The Tampa Convention Center is dedicated to upholding the accessibility standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Car Parking:

  • Designated disabled parking can be found in the following locations:
    • Tampa Convention Center Front Drive (circular drive in front of Channel Entrance): 2 spaces
    • Tampa Convention Center Garage: 11 spaces on 2nd level with ramp leading to exterior sidewalk (directly across from Channel Entrance)
    • Pam Iorio Parking Garage: 45 spaces
    • Selmon Expressway Bill Changer Parking Lot: at least 1 space
    • Selmon Expressway West parking lot: 2 spaces

Accessible Transportation Services:

Access Routes:

  • The Front Drive has a ramp with rails that leads through automatic glass doors that take you into the first level of the Convention Center. This is the Channel Entrance. There are also escalators on either side of this entrance that take you to the 2nd floor (Registration Level).
  • Another ramp to the left of the Channel Entrance leads onto the Tampa Riverwalk and on the opposite side of the circle is a ramp to The Sail Plaza bar and Big Ray’s Fish Camp restaurant.
  • Elevators are inside on the 1st floor just beyond the café.
  • These elevators can also be accessed from the Franklin Street entrance by going down the Ballroom corridor. A secondary elevator is located inside the Administrative Entrance, just outside of the Franklin Street Entrance. There is also an inside escalator from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor (Registration Level).
  • The Center has an all-access ADA lift located on the East Registration for access from the 2nd to 3rd floors and is exclusively used for this purpose
  • Escalators are located throughout the venue, including on the outside near the Channel Entrance.

Bathrooms:

  • All bathrooms are ADA accessible
  • There are family bathrooms, located next to the Franklin St. Entrance on the first floor and on the left-hand-side of West Hall

Mobile Equipment Hire:

  • Tampa Convention Center does not have scooters or wheelchairs available for event use.

Service Animals:

  • Service animals are to remain on a leash or stay within voice command of the owner.
  • Owners are responsible for service animal’s actions and clean-up/disposal of waste.
  • TCC reserves the right to inquire if a guest’s dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.
  • TCC may require a service animal to be removed from the premises if the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or the dog is not housebroken.
  • Therapy dogs are not included under this category.

Auditory and Visual Aids:

  • Braille signage is located throughout the facility
  • With advance notice, auxiliary hearing devices are available, please let us know if this is something you require
