Future of Farming Student Poster Competition

Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to showcase their vision, research, and creativity in the Future of Farming Poster Competition, taking place at The Fertilizer Show 2026, March 25th – 26th at the Tampa Convention Centre.
This competition offers an opportunity to present forward-thinking ideas that highlight how science, technology, sustainability, AI, and innovation can shape the future of agriculture.
Why this competition? It is a critical time for the global agricultural sector as it must nourish a growing population, adapt to a changing climate, and restore environmental health—all while ensuring economic viability for farmers. This challenge demands radical new thinking.
The poster competition is your platform to present original research, conceptual proposals, case studies, or visionary ideas supported by science and cutting-edge technology with ecological and social wisdom. Your poster could inspire the next breakthrough in fertilizer innovation, precision agriculture, circular bio-economies, or AI-driven farm management.
Competition Theme
“The Future of Farming: Innovation, Intelligence, Sustainability”
Competition Objectives
- Stimulate Creative Thinking: Encourage students from all disciplines to apply their knowledge to the agri-food systems of the future.
- Foster Interdisciplinary Dialogue: Connect ideas from agronomy, chemistry, engineering, soil science, computer science, economics, and social sciences.
- Showcase Scalable Solutions: Highlight practical, innovative concepts with the potential for real-world impact.
Design a compelling poster that answers: How will innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability principles redefine agri-food systems of the future?
Judging Criteria: Originality (30%), Scientific/Technical Merit (30%), Clarity of Communication & Visual Impact (25%), Practical Relevance & Scalability (15%).
Competition Details
Undergraduate and graduate students from Alabama and Florida colleges and universities are invited to submit posters for the Future of Farming Competition. A shortlist of posters will be selected from those submissions, with the finalists awarded the opportunity to present their posters to the audience at The Fertilizer Show 2026.
Poster Dimensions
The poster will be displayed on a tack board. (Vertical 4′ x 8’and Horizontal 8′ x 4′)
• If being displayed horizontally, and you wish to display 2 x posters per board, you will need to be mindful of the poster dimensions
• Boards will be set horizontally as standard, unless vertical display is specifically requested
Please note, participants are responsible for printing and bringing their posters to the show and pinning to the tack boards.

Prizes & Recognition
All Top Finalists will be awarded the exclusive “Future Farming Certificate of Excellence”.
A winner and runner up will be selected during The Fertilizer Show 2026. Prize details to follow.
