Dr. Halim, holding a PhD in Physics, began his career in high-impact R&D and business development roles, working at cutting-edge start-ups as well as global giants like Sony and Samsung in the semiconductor industry. His work took him to Silicon Valley, Japan, the UK, and Germany, where he contributed to industry-leading innovations. In 2009, he made a pivotal shift to the fertilizer sector, joining OCP Group as Sales & Marketing Director. There, he played a crucial role in shaping the group’s strategy, driving significant business growth, and leading sales across Europe and the FSU region. His expertise spanned the entire phosphate value chain, from phosphate rock and phosphoric acid to advanced phosphate fertilizers like DAP and NPKs.

 

In 2014, Dr. Mounir brought his strategic insights to Argus, where he revitalized the fertilizer business unit, enhancing existing offerings and developing innovative solutions to meet the market’s evolving needs. His deep passion for fertilizers and Africa led to the founding of AFRIQOM in 2018. AFRIQOM was born out of his vision to eliminate market opacity and enhance liquidity in Africa’s fertilizer markets. Under his visionary leadership, AFRIQOM has emerged as the undisputed leader in African fertilizer market intelligence, analytics, and conferencing, setting new benchmarks for the industry.
