Aviv Bar Tal is Global Vice President Commercial Nitrogen at OCI Global, a leading global producer and distributor of nitrogen and hydrogen based- products providing low carbon fertilizers, fuels and feedstock. OCI Global is the third largest global nitrogen fertilizer producer with a revenue of $9.7bn and more than 4,000 employees. Aviv leads OCI’s Nitrogen business and is responsible for commercial strategy, sales, sourcing, marketing, logistics, supply chain, business development and trading operations. This includes selling around 13m tons of fertilizer and ammonia products from seven production sites across four continents. Since joining OCI in 2021, Aviv has been leading the commercial transformation of ammonia from fertilizer feedstock to a low CO2 energy source and hydrogen carrier. Aviv drives OCI Global strategy to create low carbon intensity upgrade products for agricultural use and industrial use. He directly manages a team of more than 200 employees across five continents. Prior to OCI, Aviv spent 22 years at ICL Group, a minerals company producing specialty and commodity fertilizers and other products. He started his career in Israel and held leadership roles across the Netherlands, China and Brazil including in the fertilizer business and as SVP of innovative Agriculture Solutions Europe . Aviv served as VP of the European Potash association (APEP) , and on IPI (International Potash Institute) and currently sits on the BoD of Fertilizers Europe. Aviv received his Master’s Degree from Bar-Ilan University (LLM) and his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and business management from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
